Open source milestones are worth celebrating out loud. On July 28, the Model Context Protocol ships its 2026-07-28 release, and it's a meaningful step forward for one of the most widely adopted open standards for AI agent interoperability. We thought that deserved more than a changelog.
So we are throwing release parties. Six of them, rolling across time zones on July 28 and into July 29, with partners who are building real things with MCP and want to meet the people doing the same.

What to expect
Each event is a chance to connect with other AI practitioners — people working on agents, on tooling, on the protocols that make all of it composable. The crowd will include MCP maintainers, contributors, folks building on top of the spec, and people who are just starting to dig in. Come curious. Come with questions. Bring someone who should know about this but does not yet.
MCP is a community-shaped spec. The 7-28 release reflects input from developers building real production systems, and these meetups are part of that same loop, where the people using the standard and the people shaping it get to be in the same room.
