Welcome to AAIF: The MLOps Community Finds Its New Home

There are moments in the rise of a technological shift when the right communities find each other at exactly the right time. Today is one of those moments.

I’m thrilled to welcome the MLOps Community into the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) as our user community.

Why the MLOps Community? Why now?

The MLOps Community has spent years doing something that most organizations only aspire to: building a genuine practitioner community. A real, working community of engineers, data scientists, and ML leaders who share what actually works — and what doesn’t — in production AI systems.

That practitioner DNA is exactly what AAIF needs.

We founded the Agentic AI Foundation on a conviction that the shift to agentic AI is the most significant transition in enterprise AI to date. And it’s a transition that’s already underway. Companies aren’t waiting for the perfect framework. They’re deploying agents now, learning as they go, and desperately seeking peers who’ve faced the same challenges.

The MLOps Community has been the place where those conversations happen. Candidly, they’ve been happening there for a while. What changes today is that those conversations now have a formal home inside AAIF — with the shared infrastructure, vendor-neutral governance, and cross-industry reach of the Linux Foundation behind them.

What this means in practice

For MLOps Community members, nothing about the energy or culture changes. The conversations, the content, the people — that all continues and, we hope, grows. What you gain is a broader network, deeper resources, and a seat at the table as we collectively define what responsible, production-ready agentic AI looks like.

For AAIF, we gain something invaluable: a community that’s already done the hard work of earning trust. The MLOps Community doesn’t deal in hype. Its members have built real systems and lived with the consequences. That grounding is essential as we work to establish the frameworks, best practices, and open standards that agentic AI will need to scale responsibly.

A shared moment

We’re at an inflection point. The tools for building agentic systems are maturing rapidly and the use cases are expanding. So the questions around reliability, orchestration, evaluation, and governance are getting more urgent by the month.

I can’t think of a better group of people to work through those questions with than the MLOps Community.

Welcome. We’re glad you’re here. And we’re just getting started.
